  • Feminist ideology is dead, it is a tool used by bitter post middle aged women who have a hard time blaming themselves for their own current lives. Hillary spewed a bunch of gender nonsense on the campaign trail, and all it got her was the loss of millions of male and female votes, real bright !

  • Barack Obama is a better candidate and ran a better campaign. Had he or some other candidate lost 11 contests in a row and ended up millions in the hole, no one would be trying to give them so much respect and a literal pass on the over-the-top lies and exaggerations like the Bosnia sniper incident. If feminism wants equality, then we take equal criticism and fair losses like men do as well. It doesn't mean women get everything all the time just because we feel entitled...that's a "Veruca Salt" factor that Hillary ran many of us away with.

  • The “glass ceiling:” I have to hire you because you’re female, but you cannot or will not perform up to standards; I cannot fire you, discipline you, or even counsel you; you will SUE ME. I have to create a clerical function for you within the title just to keep you around and avoid your lawsuit. I then have to promote you once or twice to make space for someone who will perform. That’s the end of the line for you – the glass ceiling. You’re first in line for titles and pay, but MIA when it’s time to work.

  • Man are more comprehensive and sharing people, because millions of years hunting and doing things in companion built their solidarity and open spirit. Woman a long ago does not wanna share too much because being at home taking care of kids and feeding become a not sharing people and y their tendency it's to keep things for her or her intimate group. Woman and Man are different. Now you see a woman who change their society status but still have the inherited genes (memes). If was a man the contender of Obama, might be would already resign and recognized to Obama as candidate. But being a woman change the situation.

  • Hillary Clinton modeled her feminist "strength" by doing shots, making "Rocky Balboa look like a pansy", while looking to Rocky Balboa for inspiration. What happened to Eleanor Roosevelt? She then whipped up feminist anger at the sexism of the media. How could a woman of Hillary Clinton's stature cry sexism as her election plans falter? Modern feminists do not get mired in what they know about this country: sexism is rampant and institutionalized. Modern Feminists are role models for female leadership, ambition, and intelligence. They raise the level of discourse on these subjects at every turn. Rocky Balboa, really?

  • The state of the glass ceiling? It was broken by Hillary Clinton, which would be a historic and noble feat, were she not rubbing the broken glass of her broken ceiling into the face of the Democratic party. She lost the nomination fair and square -- not due to sexism in the media, as she continues to assert. Using the presidential race as a forum for staging a coup against the Democratic Party -- the rationale being her false argument that sexism cost her the nomination -- is not only a lie, but could very well be a mortal wound that kills the Democratic potential of winning the presidency this November.

  • You'll find the glass ceiling at the White House, and at Augusta.

  • Hillary Clinton could have become the Democratic nominee had she run a better and more principled campaign. Unfortunately she has set back the cause of women in politics thanks to her brittle and less than honest approach. Abandoning integrity and truthfulness is not the way to inspire millions of young people. Hillary's loss is not related to anything other than bad strategy combined with a 'win at all costs' mentality.

  • Why wasn't a true counterpoint done to this argument, since they both basically blame society holding women back for the problem?

    Dan M @ 10:55 PM PDT, Jun 3, 2008

  • To say that Clinton's loss of the nomination is due to "sexism" is to trivialize all that has happened. Some voted against her because of her gender, and some voted for her because of her gender. Some voted against Obama because of his race, and some voted for him because of his race. For me, it is much more than that. I voted against her because of her negativity, her sense of entitlement, her pride and arrogance - and her husband’s behaviour. I support Obama because of his message of hope. And, in the end, it was the differences in the message - not the differences in the messenger - that gave Obama my support.
