  • It's easy to skate over sexism and say humanism is the future. You have to acknowledge injustice to get past it and that's what the feminist movement is about. I see injustice on the basis of gender all the time--while it's not still enshrined into law, the attitudes still exist.

  • Feminism is polarizing and passe. Humanism, which is gender blind, color blind, orientation blind, etc., is the future.

  • One thing not discussed in the gap between different waves of feminism is the very real conflict that feminists of color have with feminist organizations that downplay or ignore race in their analysis, and don't ask how racial justice might contribute to feminism.
