  • Kareem: How can you call McCain's pick of Palin inspired? There is nothing inspiring about the Alaskan governor. She is an embarrassment and growing liability to the GOP ticket and appears to relish ignorance (and willful at that) as somehow patriotic. Her recent campaign rallies attacking Obama as terrorist are reckless, cater to the far-right lunatic fringe and all but incite a mob reaction. Disgusting.

  • Neither of the writers mentions two things that could easily change the outcome of the presidential election; 1. Republican dirty campaign tricks and personal attacks on Barack Obama and 2. Republican cheating at the polls on election day.

  • Senator McCain is a maverick, and so I think he just needs to go in and see what mavericks would do in a situation like this...and then, you know, just do that....just get in there and just be real real mavericky.

  • Republicans are thinking to generate a terrorist attack in USA, so McPalin gets Oval Office. Obviously!!!

  • I tend to agree with both of your assessments. Begrudgingly, I will vote for McCain merely to avoid relatively more socialized health care and in hopes of a couple more, hopefully brilliant and fearless, originalist Justices of the likes of Clarence Thomas. The choice is depressing: an unabashed apologist for socialism or an unrelenting critic of capitalism, both of whom are economically retarded (with apologies to the retarded).

  • I will vote for the SMART candidate who has shown, particularly in the past few weeks, not to panic, not to act erratically, and who has inspired confidence & hope. I am voting for Obama. It will take years to fix the mess we are in, but I do not trust McCain. His campaign has been mainly negative & mean spirited which I believe is representative of this candidate. I think "that one" ( McCain) needs to retire.

  • We'll take McCains experience, dedication, patriotism, decades of honorable service, his staying power, courage, stamina and optimistic outlook for the future of this country over Obama's cult-like near-religious fearmongering, cowardly race baiting and class warfare campaign. He's shown us no changes thus far, relying on the decades-old, dogeared playbook of 'how to get elected as a Democrat

  • If Palin and the entire McCain campaign say that Obama's ACQUAINTANCE with Ayers is serious and call it "association with terrorists" then what do they have to say about the hundreds of Americans who have sat at the feet of Ayers and received education from him during the years he has been a RESPECTED PROFESSOR OF EDUCATION in Illinois?
