You know, some of you liberal Democrats are really despicable people. I don't like saying that kind of stuff, but I swear it is true in your support of Obama. As a conservative I am against the violation of existing U.S. immigration laws by millions of Mexicans and others. That is why I will not vote for John McCain, who is for Amnesty. Now whats your excuse Democrats? You are supporting a guy who has been sitting in a racist church for over twenty years. He has associated with several racist preachers. He has a wife who has made racist comments. Yet, you blindly support him.

We should all agree that the quality of a country's president represents the quality of people of that country, if the President is elected by the people. Only politically knowledgeble people can elect qualified Presidents. So, after complaining about the TERRIBLE job Bush has done so far, after expressing the disappointment of the President-to-be for year 2009, let's united together and demending political science education for our children. It's the only way to save our country's future!

Both candidates are weak in term of repairing the damages Bush has made in his 8 years in office. After electing Bush to office for two terms and McCain/Obama for the president-to-be. American's ability of recognizing and electing a right person to lead our country is questionable. We all agree that Our ocuntry is at the worst time of recent years, internally and internationally. For the sake of our country's and children's future, we should start teaching political science in elementary school, middle school, high school. To be continued.

""People shouldn't see things as inevitable, because I can produce an example of people seeing something as inevitable that actually wasn't" is a logical fallacy." No it isn't. If people tend to overestimate the likelihood of something being inevitable, they should, adjust their priors accordingly.

Obama, like McCain and Clinton are all the same Bilderberg stooges selected by the elite for a dumbed down population. They serve Corporate agendas over that of the American people. The above article is written by someone who is ignorant, or paid by the same corporate elite. Ooops, it is the LA Times after all!!!!!!!!!!!! Different facets of the same stone. Please wake up America. The choices your given are the ones you accept. Choose none of them. Withdraw your permission from this macabre circus, and take back the country, which corrupt politicians have stolen from you for their corporate masters.

"We need a body of people that is going to watch where every dime is being spent, and what it is being spent on." You're absolutely correct, Mike M (4:04pm 6/10). I propose we establish such a body of people; say, two reps per state in one branch of this body, and a number of reps proportionate to the population of each state in the other branch of the body. Oh, wait - we already have that - and THEY are the problem!!!

"Obama channels the Democratic Party's frustration with the country's drift toward militarism and imperialism-by-any-other-name"?? Are you insane? He just promised AIPAC to destroy Iran if they order him to do so.

When Warren Buffett comes out and says that the rich are getting away with murder, you know something is wrong with our tax system. If these government criminals would stop spending money in all the wrong places we would have the money to run this country the right way. The way they put those bills together should be against the law. Just like that farm bill, half the money goes for what we need and the other half goes to a bunch of rich farmers. We need a body of people that is going to watch where every dime is being spent, and what it is being spent on. Look at our military spending. Are we out to conquer the world.
