1. When I did the research for Why Men Earn More, I discovered that the pay gap was about 25 work-life differences among men and women. Each of men's decisions led to higher pay; each of women's lead to a better life. I discovered that the road to high pay is a toll road--that anyone who pays the tolls of working more hours, or hazardous jobs, or relocating more frequently, or working in technical careers will earn more. High pay and a good life are about trade-offs.

2. To all three candidates (question regarding Civil Service/Spousal Soc Security)........???? I am a retired CSRS gov't employee with a low retirement pay. My concern is why can't I draw my husbands' Soc Sec one day rather than being penalized and denied just b/c I was a gov't worker for 30-years. Folks who did not work at all are entitled to their husband's Soc Sec and for me I worked hard all my life and it is like a slap in the face for working. My husband worked hard all his life since he was 15 years old; and I think he/spouse should be entitled. Thank you for you comments in your future commentaries on this subject.

3. Social Security could have been funded for 100 years with what fraternity lad- cheerleader Bush spent & is spending on his wars & giving away to "faith-based" parasites who take jobs best left to professionals. His 8 years are spent keeping "defense contractors" as sleek dogs in the manger, preventing Congress from feeding domestic needs from our treasuries. Not too late to impeach.

4. FDR had "socialistic advisers. He wisely used taxes to make pre-WW!! jobs for Americans. They were good jobs that built sturdy post offices & other civic buildings. CCC work kept boys planting forests with no time for jobless mischief on corners. Then came Japan, stupidly overbreeding on a small landmass-CONSUMING too much--& Germany doing the same--so came WW!!.

5. Strip away insurance company commissions from taxpaid healthcare, & take employers out of it--voila--success. Shame-free taxpaid abortion, contraceptives & voluntary sterilization will FREE men & women from needing to grow old too fast by "working to support big families." Early dental care will let people have lifetime good chewing surfaces--bad teeth cause many digestive problems.

6. As an atheist, I remind commentators that making churches pay taxes on their property LIKE THE REST OF US (I pay on home & two apartment buildings) our treasuries will be filled just fine. Pres. Grant said "Tax churches--or one day they could own everything." Google "Church supplies" to see how much stuff is said to be NEEDED as "costs of worship."

7. All the above questions are frivoulous when compared to what should bee asked of the candidates wich are: 1. What do you intend to do about US dependency of foreign oil. This deadly jprice increase can ruin our economy and thus the nation. 2. Wgat do you intedn to do about the increasing threat to world peace evindeced by Islam and it's intent to dominate the world.

8. An allegation is as a naval pilot McCain was responsible for starting the USS. Forestal fire. I would like to know the truth and dare the LA Times to ask the Senator. We would be treated to McCain’s pyrotechnic temper. Senator Clinton stated the conditions when she would attack Iran: If Iran attacked Israel. The question should be: Aren’t Israeli’s nuclear weapons sufficient to protect Israel? More precisely, how can a country that refuses to sign the NPT demand that a country that has signed the NPT disavow nuclear energy, especially when the country making the demand has nukes and the other does not?

9. Baptist Wright's accurate condemnation of "regime changing," (although he didn't call it that) is not like Jesse's work with Dr. King. Two presidents (Bush} both involved with offshore oil, wasted our people & taxes to involve us in Kuwait & Iraq. Bush Co had the FIRST offshore oil concession in Kuwait. Iraq rightfully complained when Kuwait pumped more oil & caused huge loss to Iraq. Google Kuwait history.

10. Who beiieves most of us ARE satisfied with the debased "reporting" that now includes "fashion, recipes, 7-daddy babies, diets & pther wastes of electricity and time? TV began as a great chance for learning from best qualified teachers, but explaining the process of evolution was involved--and down came religious censorship. Along came fuzzy programs with baby talk voices, Welk was no help - (schmaltzy content & matrons waltzed by the host.) Who doesn't hate 7-minute-interval ads at full blast? And that awful drumming?
