  • The republican party needs to refocus on sensible government budgets....balanced budgets.....force govt to budget just like everyone else has to in their own home. Lay the hard choices out and declare there is no free lunch. People will respond to the truth rather than washington doublespeak. Also, it sickens me that the illegal immigrant invasion has worked. We must now pander to the invaders, or they will vote against us. ...and they demand free handouts (spread the wealth around...remember?!). sickening.

  • The only difference between the GOP and the KKK is the thread-count of their sheets.

  • Those 'rich' people with combined incomes over 250K are going to have a major wake up call come tax time. I think the GOP might have a lot of new supporters, even in California if they can get their act together and back to being fiscal conservatives. Maybe Democrats won't vote for Republican for President, I think many people will be fearful of the Dems running unchecked and taxing the living daylights out of them.

  • Celebrate Democrates. You did before. Even we Republicans know Bush was an idiot. And yet with the economy, the Bush, the wars and all the rest you had 55 million plus vote for the other guy at 72. We will be back. Oh! Oh! And while your rejoicing. We remember the ignorant hateful pieces of crap you were and how you gave our guy a bad time. Its payback time.

  • When the Democratic party lost major elections in the past, it was written off as dead. (BTW, I am a Democrat.) Now, the GOP has lost a major election and eulogies are being written for it. It's not dead. So fellow Democrats out there: please stop being so smug. It's unbecoming. Be a good winner not a sore winner. Rise above the jr high/middle school mentality.

  • "Michael's" comment is absurd. The so called "elephant" in the room being the religious right represents far more people in the U.S than you suppose. You are also wrong that they do not care about the real issues. They just have a different value system than many California "liberals". I would not be surprised to see someone like Mike Huckabee be the next president. Jim

  • California's very own former head idiot Ronnie Rayguns election as Head Puppet in 1980 began the dumb-assing down of America. Bush and Sarah Failin' (note the dropped g) hopefully represent the very bitter end. Why is it ever ok to purposely come off as being ignorant with no desire to understand any other point of view? gObama!

  • Bruce, I love your dig at Gen X being the "me" generation and what you are trying to imply. In the 2004 presidental election, those 30-44 (largely fits within the Gen X bracket) voted 53-46 in favor of Bush vs. Kerry. This tilt in favor of Bush was stronger than every other age bracket except the 60 and older. So are you saying that folks with an "us" outlook tend toward being Democrats and those with a "me" philosophy tend toward being Republicans?
