Mr. Goldberg, as long as your skin tone is the opposite that of the black race, you will never understand the true feelings and expression of Rep. J. Lewis and the like. What he and many African Americans have suffered is something you and most white people can't relate to. Truth be told, "racist" is exactly what you, McCain, Palin and most of the Republican party are. The only difference in this era is you no longer hide behind the white hoods, you dress it up with suits and ties and dresses and heals. Face the facts, Barack Obama, the most qualified candidate, and he WILL be the next president. Thank you!

Fire Goldberg! Hire Buckley!!
We want Buckley!

If you can't see the implied racism in the McCain campaign it's because you don't want to. They've done everything but call him the N-word.

How about the Palins getting off easy? They support a secessionist group.
By definition a secessionist in America rejects our constitution, our laws, our flag, our values and very way of life. They despise them enough that they prefer leaving the union.
Secessionists tend to pal around with militia groups or form their own in part to prepare for armed insurrection against a country that the other 300 million of us love.
Yet there is little discussion in the news about this issue involving a potential vice-president for goodness sake.

I love that Acorn's voter fraud of over 1800 registrants has been reduced to a dozen by this Obama supporter.
I totally agree with this writer. Even yesterday's LA Times Headlines were all pro-Obama and neg-McCain.
Unfortunately, the media is too close to see their own bias. Thank you Goldberg for pointing out the obvious.

The common denominator of dissenting opinions of this article is a lack of respect for the writer. I'm guessing that they have zero self-respect. Virtually every dissent has started with a personal attack on Goldberg's ethnicity or integrity or ability. I sincerely hope that most attackers are the children they sound like, because if they are voting age adults, then someone seriously failed in their upbringing. Pitiful!

The McCain/Palin's are called McCarthyism -- loyalty through guilt be association. William Ayers, a respected professor whose views of the war and racism in the United States many Americans shared. His tactic are open to debate but not his motive. The party that stole the Florida Election in 2000, and that routinely tries to disenfranchise poor voters, accuses ACORN of voter fraud. Less than a dozen errors -- they also also jokes like registering Mickey Mouse. McCain himself praised in the past.

You are honest and brave, Mr. Goldberg. I sometimes wonder how much race will play in a (surprise!) narrow McCain win this Nov. We will all end up labeling this "phenomenon" the Obama Effect." Fate can be a tad too twisted.
Good for You, Mr. Goldberg @ 2:42 PM PDT, Oct 15, 2008
Another knee jerk reflexive defense of a bankrupt ideology called conservatism. Waste of money, time, and the paper the article is written on. No new ideas whatsoever. Please spare us your childish defense of a bankrupt ideology, and get a real life for a change.

I can't believe you actually have a column at LA times. Are you serious? Obama is putting his life on the line every time he makes a public appearance all while threats of Kill Him are being hurdled at him!! Obama is not getting off easy. Mr Goldberg you should step back and ask yourself, "Will this county ever confirm a Jewish President." The answer unfortunately is no.
