  • The leftwing smear attack on "Joe the Plumber" is the reason no reporter will ask Obama a tough question. They know what's in store for them if they do.

  • so ole joe has been cheating customers by not being licensed, cheating the government by not paying taxes, he lied in his question, then Mc Cain lied in his pathetic follow up. yeah, that does represent a certain "individual" demographic we call the "dirtbag" and the "criminal" and their "path" is a perp walk. they are welcome to that path. the rest of us will rise above and become more together than we can be alone - it's called "civilization." you should try it.

  • There is no sympathy for a man who lies on national television to prove a false assumption

  • Secondly, it would have been a sensible question if an honest person had asked it. Not only that, but Obama answered the question sensibly. He said that the first $250,000 would not be taxed and only the additional $30,000 would be taxed at a slightly higher rate of about 3%. Only the additional $30,000 would be taxed more, not the whole $280,000! That is important to understand and if someone doesn't want to pay those taxes then they should move to another country that would not have given them the opportunity in the first place.

  • oh yeah - he's a republican plant. PLEASE. he's a guy who was destroyed by an overzealous media. Do you Obamabots even see how stupid you sound? I'd love to see just one of you get the filleting he has gotten.

  • The Boston Globe has covered Obama's cooperation with slumlords in Chicago, and CNN has covered the real story of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. None of the domestic media has covered Obama's support of Raila Odinga's failed bid for the presidency of Kenya--which resulted in widespread violence in Kenya. But, every news outlet sent a reporter to Joe the Plumber's front door. The mainstream media debates why they are losing readers! The mainstream media lost relevancy when they lost objectivity. Wait until Americans realize that they were sold a bum steer instead of a grand champion.

  • What is a left coast Pravda wannabe doing providing a forum for a conservative patriot like Jonah Goldberg?

    John Lewis @ 3:38 PM PDT, Oct 21, 2008

  • Are you really as dense as this column portrays or are you just hitting your kneepads to shill for the rest of the right wing whacko wingnuts as usual? McCain threw this guy out to as a poster boy without vetting him-the guy's a fraud and you whine because the media id doing something that McWeasel didn't? Why don't you come to Toledo and I'll explain it to you personally-you give journalism a bad name.

  • First of all, what's the obsession with "Joe the Plumber" symbolizing middle class America. As pointed out on political television, what about the African-American female who needs to pay to go to college, or the Hispanic American who is trying to buy a home. What are their dreams? Joe the Plumber was a fraud and exposed for it. How ridiculous is it for him to support a candidate that would hurt his immediate present in turn to maybe help him when he may become wealthy? Support the candidate who will help you now!

  • Joe The Plumber is less a citizen than a Republican plant. He's neither a plumber, nor an Independent nor a taxpayer. He's just yet another embarrassment for the Republican Party.
