1. The most intriging aspect of your article is the cocnversation with the maid. Next 5 years she probably would not be a maid, by then, she may well have graduated to the ranks of Buchanan et al, who believe that blacks and other minorities of colour she be thanking their lucky stars for being in the USA and should shut up and go to the back of the line.

2. Your article has NOT achieved in reducing my fear of being invaded by Mexicans, press-1-for-English, spanish signs, and illegal alien crime

4. I believe I'm posting this comment on the opinion page, so I feel that my comment should be posted even if it is insulting of the author of this column (Gregory Rodriguez.) However, yesterday, I posted a comment which gave my opinion that Gregory Rodriguez is a racist. Apparently, my opinion didn't match up with the opinion of whoever is responsible for approving messages before they are posted here.

5. this is again a finger pointing attitude that is well known, no one takes responsability in the US anymore. Stop buying drugs and the crime in Mexico and south america will be reduced immediately, stop agricultural subsidies that are killing the only living peasants have south of the border and we won't have a problem with immigration. Enough of this US is more holly than anyone else... instead of 3 trillion dollars for Iraq, use half for education.

6. Great response "Leagal Immigrant." It is very apparent that our "friends" from Mexico come here for the benefits of living in the United States as long as they can maintain their culture and identity with Mexico. Anyone who doubts that the "reconquista" movement is alive and well needs to drive through older neighborhoods in the San Fernando Valley. Not a sign in English, trash everywhere, family homes turned into junk yards and boarding houses. Mexico facilitates this by offering dual citizenship. If Mr. Rodriquez was proud of being an American he wouldn't have to identify himself as a "Mexican-American."

7. You must be great friends with TONY VILAR aka Antonio Villaraigosa and Xavier Becerra and Fabian Nunez who all feel it is their duty to represent illegal aliens from Mexico over the legal residents and citizens of the United States of America! TREASONOUS!

9. "But, but, BUT...our children might have to learn Spanish, to be, I can hardly bring myself to write the dreaded word, BILINGUAL! Oh, the HORROR!!!" But, but, BUT...illegal immigrant children and anchor babies might have to learn *English* in order to become *American citizens* as ALL *legal* immigrants to this country learned English before them. THEY woud become, do I dare to say the dreaded word, BILINGUAL! Oh, the HORROR!!!

10. "It’s curious that the nativists upset by the Absolut ad have no qualms with the commercialization of the Confederate flag, the symbol of a proven attempt to redraw the map of the United States." Oh, really? Personally, I have a BIG problem with the Confederate Flag. I am just as opposed to public display of the Confederate Flag as I am opposed to the Absolut ad.
