Plugged into the right
1.
Tony Snow on CNN should fit right in with Wolf Blitzer and Campbell Brown, but I suspect Jack Cafferty will have a conniption.
2. But let me bring up one specific about Rove and the current state of dialog. More than five years ago, a campaign began under which all criticism of the President was characterized as expressions of personal hatred for the President himself. The idea was, a) it made any critic a nasty sorehead hater; and 2) it made it unnecessary to reply to the substance of the criticism, because it was just based on emotion. The reaction to the Huffington column is an illustration of how widespread and destructive the effects of this campaign have been.
3. ABC hears critics on the PA debate and thinks "But the ratings!" CNN sees Snow as a celeb . What's an ideal compared to a rising stock option? As I understand it, corporations were originally considered subordinate entities allowed in order to serve the public good (build a bridge, maintain a turnpike, etc). State-issued charters spelled out what they were supposed to do, what was expected of them. I say go back to governance that makes corporations subordinate and accountable to the public interest; otherwise, money will always steer the boat.
4. Keith - You should really get your facts straight about Greece. The Greeks fought the Nazis themselves, quite effectively; the US wasn't involved except at the edges. But keep spitting: it's easier than reading or thinking.
5. Mr. Curry: Maybe you should get professional help that will enable you to participate in a political discussion on the basis if issues. If Arianna is so wrong, you should be able to show it, instead of calling her names.
6. Mr. Michos, it's not about "more people hearing BOTH sides of the political issues." It's about calling lies what they are. If somoene is lying they are not presenting a side of the political issue, they are lying. The objection is to the lie, not to the politics. But maybe you prefer lies.
7. Arianna, your rhetoric is so laced with hate and bittterness it is difficult for a reader to take you seriously. You complain about the veracity of Tony Snow and those in the present administration yet you fail to point out the dishonesty on the left such as Barrack "I never heard the pastor say those things" Obama or Hillery "had to run under sniper fire" Clinton, or Dan "forged memo" Rather. Maybe, just maybe, your hysterical reaction to a slightly more balanced mainstream media is the realization that your hypocracy is showing.
8. Huffington is a cow.
9. For you conservative right wing idiots...Its OK to have different view points. Just do not expect ones that are wrong from being taken seriously! This that simple. And for your simple god-bless-America-and Jesus-and my SUV minds this should make sense. If republicans want to stop being insulted than they should stop being wrong about everything...Iraq, the economy, environment, etc.
10. What you object to is more people hearing BOTH sides of the political issues facing our nation today. What you are afraid of is if people hear a reasoned argument they may cause them to re-examine some of their opinions that have been based on one-sided information given to them by (more radical) liberal perspectives. What should CNN do,,,,become a "Keith Oberman" Newscast. Please..get over it. The country is diverse and you .. Ms. Huffington..are on the fringe. Not CNN,,Fox News..AM Radio the LA Times or the like.
