  • horrible. O will be ransacked by the democratic political machine. secret ballotting with be a thing of the past for employees considering unionizing.....they will submit to the union thuggery and do what they are told is best for them. Putin is licking his chops...he's already palnning on retaking the russian presidency. he wants to be on top when Russia reclaims its empire while there is a novice in the white house.

  • The whole world hated Bush, and yet there is no doubt in my mind the majority of republicans would vote him again, given the chance. The "Change" that Obama ran on, has to be a change in the political direction of this country for many years to come. Let's hope that as the country becomes more educated, scripted republican ideals based on fooling rural voters will become a thing of the past. There is nothing immoral about intelligence.

  • "So-called war on terror"?? Why not just start your column off with "I lack any credibility, but..." ??? Most of the rest of the world can't find the fortitude to actually confront evil. The global community allowed Saddam to ignore 17 UN resolutions for 12 years without doing anything more than passing yet another useless resolution. If they hate us because we have the guts to act and confront evil in our time, then let them hate us.

  • Also if will be refreshing to travel again around the world and not have to worry about people NOT liking you because you are an American!

  • I agree with you totally! Now let's see if he can delier just half of his campaign promises...that will be the REAL TEST as to him being different.

  • Rosa wrote: "His mixed-race ancestry and his family ties to other nations (Kenya and Indonesia) give him a perspective on global affairs that no other U.S. president has had." That's like saying Palin knows about foreign policy because she can see Russia.... God help Obama. The world has elevated him to God like status and underneath it all, he's just a human being. A fine one, yes. But he is still a man with an enormous burden that needs a reality check, not bottomless adulation.

  • WHATEVER. Rosa Brooks and her continuing stream of liberal crap. Sorry, world? Do we really want to have a discussion of what this country has provided for the rest of the whining, unappreciative world to which Brooks refers? Frankly I do not give a damn what other countries (who have ALL benefitted from American largesse in so many ways) have to say. I don't see any of them providing a quality of life comparable to what we have here. As for the ninnies like Brooks and dim-witted college student who started that website--you really do have a lot to apologize FOR; you're just sorry for the wrong things, to the wrong people.

  • Who cares if the world likes us? What is that going to do to speed our economic recovery? What is that going to do to help the housing mess? Great, people like us more. That makes paying the mortgage all the more easier to know somebody in Kenya likes the US.

  • YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME??? THIS IS A JOKE? THIS IS A JOKE RIGHT??????
