Is it fair for Schwarzenegger to order a third monthly furlough day for state workers?
Yes. The private sector is under enormous economic pressure, and state workers should share the pain.
Yes, but whatever budget solution the state comes up with shouldn't rely solely on spending cuts of this sort.
No. Californians would be worse off with the decrease in service availability.
No. Cutting pay via furloughs for thousands of employees will further hurt the economy.
Schwarzenegger didn't go far enough. Many more state services should to be cut entirely or privatized.
