Re “The ‘Guru of Ganja’ Gets a Day in Jail,” June 5: Ed Rosenthal’s victory bodes ill for the pharmaceutical and alcohol industries, which reap obscene profits on products considered inferior by Rosenthal and others who self-medicate with marijuana.
And when will the government regain the wisdom shown by Franklin Roosevelt when he ended Prohibition, directed law enforcement to more pressing concerns and fattened the federal coffers through the taxation of alcohol?
