Citizens Take a Stand for Legal Immigration

Share

Re “Affluent Cross Border to U.S. for Childbirth,” April 17: I am Hispanic. I came to the United States as a legal immigrant, and I am a naturalized U.S. citizen. I did it the right way. I am angry at the abuses of our laws by foreigners. The party will be over soon, however, for those who are not residents of this country. In Congress, the Citizenship Reform Bill is waiting to be passed. This bill will eliminate the “anchor baby” gimmick that is being used by illegal aliens as well as wealthy foreigners.

This bill will not recognize children of a mother who is not a legal resident in the U.S. Rewarding these people is a slap in the face of those of us who came to the U.S. according to its immigration laws.
