One suspects that if George W. Bush and his administration were treated as employees (rather than as tribal leaders or parental figures), they'd have been terminated for poor performance no later than the 2004 elections for failure to perform by their own standards.
That we failed to hold this administration to its own standards may speak more about us as a culture and people.

I am outraged... more than I can say. I have written to everyone I can think of in DC. What a conceit for Congress to be worried about the fall elections -- why should anyone vote for them if they don't discharge their responsibility?
If Republicans can pull off a high-ratings show (starring Bill and Monica) why can't the Democrats? I think that until we put a US President in jail for abuse of power, we will continue to elect egomaniacs who commit international war crimes with impunity.
And tell me please, what does Congress really want? It's hard to tell when they ignore the elephant in the middle of the room.

This just proves what I've been saying ever since this stinking war began. He's a liar, his cabinet is made up of liars. Why did they lie? So that they could line their pockets with profits made from the war, profits made from the deaths of our children, brothers, sisters, mothers, father, aunts and uncles.

It is a given that tthe Bush administration lied to get us into war with Iraq. The question is for me is Why. I can't help but think the current oil situation and our military presents over tthere are connected. I think we have the fox guarding the chicken coop.

The aluminum tubes deserve prominent mention. They were our government's only physical evidence of Saddam's reinvigorated nuclear weapons program. But scientists with the Energy Department determined very early on that they were inappropriate for use in a centrifuge. In testimony to Congress, one scientist even said that the best way to derail Saddam's purported nuclear program would be to let him have the tubes. But the U.N. inspectors confirmed the claim of Saddam's government that they were to be used as bodies for legal, medium-range rockets. Yet, administration officials continued to mention the tubes.

My gawd what lunacy I've been reading.
George Bush lied because he thought Iraq had WMD"s?
These people all said Iraq had WMD"S too, some said Iraq was an Imminent threat.
UN,CIA,Bill and Hillary Clinton,Most of the Senators
British service,Israel's,Russians,and many more
How conveniet of the liberal nutcases on this blog to single our George Bush as a liar and not say a word about any of the socialist brothers who said Iraq had WMD's.
If Iraq does become a functunal peaceful democratic moslem country. Bush will be remembered as one of the most courageous and best Presidents in our history.

They won't acknowledge Bush's lies because in doing so they would open the United States to massive lawsuits from the people in Iraq that were killed, maimed and ruined. Bush could be tried as a war criminal and so the United States won't acknowledge what he did. They won't acknowledge it any more than they acknowledged the massacure of the Native American's. This country isn't as pure as we would like it to be. It is now up to the people of this country to stand up and change how this country works. Can Obama change it, not really, but he can start the dialog, I pray he can do what he wants to do.

Dear Mr. Bolton,
I don't get it, either. It looks like Bush is going to get away with it. I can't see how Obama, after all his mush-mouth, namby-pamby pandering to Unity, will allow a U.S. attorney general to seriously prosecute the Bush administration's defrauding of Congress.
If a state or local district attorney tries to prosecute Bush for murder, à la Vincent Bugliosi, Obama will pardon him, don't you think?
Maybe an O.J. Simpson / Ron Goldman family style civil suit is the last recourse.
