TOON-OP

Horse laughs

The week in political cartoons.
February 3, 2008

Occasionally, I've used this space to deplore the prevalence of "horse race" media coverage, including cartoons. But sometimes there are winners, especially during primary season. In last week's Sunshine State Stakes, HillareeCee galloped to victory, even as Tom Toles rode Slickwillie, her sometimes unstable stable mate. For the GOP, it was War Hero beating Romnibucks in a photo-op finish that Jake Fuller brushed off. Rudy's Dream crashed and burned, and Scott Stantis showed why. That's the call, straight from this horse's mouth.
