  • Dear Mike D, As anybody who has driven past a studio in the last two and a half months can tell you, the writers are always out there. As early as 5:30 am until evening, depending on the studio. You're just silly.

  • Hm, Mike D. So writers should have been picketing outside of studios closed for the holidays themselves? FYI, picketing goes on for six hours a day at some studios and nine hours a day at others. That newscaster you saw was probably just trying to make the picketers walk faster -- since they are known to take their time (purposefully) when walking the line. Anyway, thank you Mr. Elisberg for a nice post.

  • Your article is just a bit wrong. I work in the business and they picket for about 5 hours a day at most studios. They stay at NBC longer because they have a better chance of being seen. They took at least a 2 week "Break" around the holidays, and not 1 picket was visible. They do not picket when it rains either. FAIR WEATHER PICKETERS!!! I am personally insulted at the amount of effort i've witnessed on the part of the WGA, I even saw a Newscaster directing about 5 picketers walking in a circle for a newscast. Is this real???
