Your Thoughts

The media is talking about Barack Obama's fist-bump and John McCain shuffling the leadership of his campaign. Have these topics gotten too much exposure? What else are you sick of hearing about?

  • Bill Comment - ALL candidates refer to themselves as, "when I am president"

  • did it ever occur to anyone that, coming from a military family, the folks back home might have objected to Mc Cain taking early release? if he was so honorable he might not have left his wheelchair-bound wife to marry Mrs. Moneybags.

  • In a slow week like this, you would think stories like John McCain not paying his property taxes for four years would get some bite, but the news stations are so protective of their favorite nominee that you'll never see any negative reporting of John McCain. In my book, not paying your taxes is more unpatriotic than not wearing your lapel pin. Our reporters need to stop going to BBQs at John McCain's ranch, stop buttering John McCain up with donuts with sprinkles, and start writing some news stories with a bit more meat. Otherwise, I'm seeing little difference between John McCain's staff and the Fourth Estate.

  • I hope this will be a continued feature. The media needs to know it is accountable for what it does with its stewardship, lest we see another Iraq, another Bush.

  • I'm sick of hearing about Barack and campaign finance and not reporting how McCain is gaming the system: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/200902.php Or the McCain's not paying taxes: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/06/28/mccains-failed-to-pay-tax_n_109785.html I'm sick of the media not reporting that Phil Gramm, McCain's economic advisor is partly responsible for the mortgage crisis: http://thinkprogress.org/2008/05/28/mccain-adviser-phil-gramm-shaped-mccains-economic-policy-while-lobbying-for-foreign-bank/

  • The fact that this article, with the opening paragraph it has, is punctuated by a "Which of these candidates would you invite to your July 4 barbecue?" poll is kind of weird.... umm, did you do that on purpose? Is it irony?

  • Since when does religion have to do with being president? We have a constitution to keep that out of government, does this mean we will have our kids kneeling to mecha in school now?

  • One thing that I found very disturbing was the comments from BO about 'when I am president'. This is going to get very old by the time this presumtive candidate is voted out/in. Do we really need months of preaching?

  • Thanks for the cool rundown James, nice to see it all in perspective. I was sure you would mention the guns and gays topics, and maybe a word on how Barack Hussain can't seem to make up his mind on these subjects. I would really like to have Barack as my BBQ, then again, maybe not. Hold on, I will have another opinion soon. Have a great indepedance day!
