This year marked Rep. Ron Paul's (R-Texas) final run at the White House, leaving behind a libertarian legacy that now needs another standard bearer. So who better to take up the flag of limited government than his son and current Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul has already brought a number of libertarian causes to the Senate, and has edged closer to the middle ground, particularly by addressing the Republican National Convention following its contentious relationship with supporters of his father.
And Paul's profile has been on the rise since his lengthy filibuster on the Senate floor over the Obama administration's drone policies.
