How does President Obama thank his former chiefs of staff for serving in that grueling position? On Wednesday, Obama will give them both another task -- getting him reelected.

In a morning rollout, officials will announce Bill Daley and Rahm Emanuel as national campaign co-chairmen, according to a source familiar with the plans.

They'll be joined by several other prominent supporters around the country, including Sen. Dick Durbin, Rep. Jan Schakowsky, billionaire philanthropist Penny Pritzker and Chicago lawyer Alan Solow.

Emanuel went from the hot seat in the Obama administration to run for and then serve as mayor of Chicago over a year ago, and Daley only just arrived back home after a tough year.

Still, both have signed up to serve as ambassadors for the president and host events on his behalf while also advising the campaign.

Roughly 30 co-chairs will be announced by the campaign on Wednesday, according to a source familiar with the plans.
