For the record

Denver building heights: An article in Sunday’s Section A about limiting building heights to preserve Rocky Mountain views from inside the Colorado Rockies’ Coors Field quoted Brad Buchanan and identified him as an architect whose clients oppose restrictions. The story should have added that Buchanan is a member of the Denver Planning Commission and has recused himself from discussions on the issue.

Hall of Fame: A Newswire item in Wednesday’s Sports section reported that a UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame induction for eight new members would be tonight. The ceremony is Nov. 8.

Medfly discovery: An article in Tuesday’s California section on the Medfly infestation in September in Dixon, Calif., incorrectly reported that the initial discovery was of a fly corpse. The first four Medflies caught in a trap were alive.

Writers’ strike: An article in Monday’s Calendar about the 1988 writers’ strike incorrectly stated that one of the issues then was residuals from DVDs. That format had not yet been invented. Home video residuals were a sticking point.

Bigfoot fans: An Al Martinez column in the Oct. 15 California section about an upcoming meeting of Bigfoot aficionados referred to a film, “The Legend of Bogey Creek.” The correct title is “The Legend of Boggy Creek.”
