1. To those of you who are as angry about the possibility of the city restoring funding to Channel 36 as I am I say this to you. Take action. Call your council representative, however, don't stop there. Stop shopping in the city of L.A, try to avoid dining in L.A.as well. Go to neighboring cities instead. If you are in L.A. and you see parking control about to ticket a car, put a few coins in so the city can't get the revenue from that parking ticket. Cancel your cable service so the city doesn't get the revenue mentioned in this article. Go with Dish or Direct TV. You have the power to make change. Use it. Any other suggestions?

2. Mr. Rosendahl. Don't you realize you are doing exactly what you rail against Bush for? You, as a former cable man, are putting your own special interests in front of what is best for L.A. This is why people are sick of politicians. Raise taxes at every turn but never consider cutting something as bad as Channel 36. Real bright. We have two television channels. If you can't cut this wasted resource then there is no hope for you and anyone else who votes to restore funding for that terrible station channel 36 Have you no decency sir. At long last, have you no decency?

3. What?! Patt you can't be serious! What's next, an article calling for the return of Chevy Chase as a talk show host or a sequel to Ishtar? Just because 10% of their programming might be marginally acceptable, doesn't mean we need to keep this lousy channel around much less pay for it. Do you live in the city of L.A.? I have a hard time believing you find this an acceptable use of your tax dollars. We're talking over 1 million every two years. By the way, I would like to see an opposing article to this. Given all the readers comments here it deserves one. Let's see exactly what we’re getting for all that money

4. If everyone who reads this article wants to hit the city where it hurts then cancel your cable service and order satellite. You don't have to pay 5% of your bill for these channels you'll never watch. 35 is OK but I don't miss it. Channel 36 is just a joke. I have seen better on public access. Make a statement. Don't give the City of L.A. any additional money. Wouldn't it be great if everyone canceled their cable service because of this? They would never take advantage of us again with their silly funding of things like channel 36. Hit them where they hit us, in the pocketbooks. Do it today! Send a message!

5. I used to do some editing at Channel 36 and they barely paid me the minimum wage, which is far far below what editors make. They always said "oh, our budget is so low, we never have any money". Then I read this and I ask myself, where did the money go, because I wasn't seeing any of it. Thanks for exploiting me and all the other college interns channel 36, especially knowing now that you had the money to pay us much more than you did. Real nice of you. Now it looks like you are getting a taste of your own medicine. How appropriate. How sweet. How just.

6. Think about it folks. That crummy channel 36 has been around for a long time. Lets say they've existed 10 years. That means every ten years the city of L.A. is throwing over 5.5 million away on something it has two of! Now it begins to hit home doesn't it?! If this channel goes on another few years, close to 10 million dollars will have been wasted. When I hear stories about that woman in Pico-Union or that guy who lives in a gang area, it makes my blood boil to know the good that money could do for them. Let's take our city back and use channel 36 as the prime example of unchecked waste at City Hall! Who's with me?!

7. All L.A does is take, take, take, take and waste, waste, waste, waste, waste, waste. Seeing this story about that stupid channel 36 makes me glad I moved from L.A. to Pasadena 6 years ago.1. I don't have to see that channel any longer and be reminded of how City Hall wastes my money on ridiculous things like this. 2.I will never again be subjected to those idiots at City Hall in L.A. that have no consideration for the people who they are supposed to represent. I advise anyone looking to buy a house in LA. to strongly reconsider. The money they give to 36 is only a drop in the bucket of the many things they will waste your hard earned money on

8. "Frank"-Or should I say 36 employee with an interest in defaming anyone who objects to your pathetic channel. 1. I don't spend every waking hour on this. I am just concerned about my money, not my job, unlike you. 2. The only wrong 36 has done to me is take my tax money to pay for that ridiculous channel you love so much (and appear to be the only one who does) 3.I have as much time to devote to you as you do. Do you have too much time on your hands? 4.Does calling me a wacko allow you to gloss over the humiliation as you and your 36 coworkers stand in unemployment line?

9. Just when I think that maybe that out of touch city council is finally realizing the gravity of the mess they have put us in, I read things like this and realize (like another who wrote here) that I made the biggest mistake of my life when I bought a condo in L.A. (Downtown). In fact, I live in the building where Channel 36 has their headquarters and every time I walk by it seems like they are sitting around doing nothing or taking two hour lunches at the pizza place next door. No wonder they don't want to lose their funding, besides the city employees they are the biggest do nothing group of workers I have ever seen.

10. I work in the entertainment industry and I know good value for the dollar when I see it. The city of L.A. is throwing its money away with Channel 36. With that type of money, they should have a much higher production value. Channel 35 looks much better than 36.
