Amber Alert for O.C. boy
An Orange County man shot and critically wounded his ex-wife during a custody exchange Wednesday, then took off with their 9-year-old son, authorities said.
Officials said Lonnie Ramos, 46, was waiting for his ex-wife when she came to pick up their son, Ryan, in Lake Forest about 6:30 p.m.
He allegedly shot through the window of her car, striking her in the upper torso. The woman, whose name was not released, was in critical condition at a local hospital. She had come to pick up her son with a friend and the friend’s 4-year-old daughter, and the friend drove her for help, officials said.
Authorities issued a statewide Amber Alert for the boy and said he and his father could be in a red convertible Porsche, with California license plate 4BWU827, or a Chevy Suburban, California license plate 5LTC712.
