Stanford University’s marching band, notorious for its pranks, is in trouble again, this time for allegedly trashing the trailer that had been its home for four years.

University officials suspended the Leland Stanford Jr. University Marching Band when they learned that the “Band Shak” had been vandalized in mid-July, not long after the band moved into a new $2.8-million building.

Vandals spray-painted profanities and broke windows and walls in the trailer, causing up to $50,000 in damage, Stanford officials said.

The band will remain suspended pending completion of the investigation, officials said.

Band members will not be permitted to participate in summer rehearsals, even though the first game and the inauguration of Stanford’s new stadium are just six weeks away.

The band has faced disciplinary action in the past for antics such as urinating on a football field and being rowdy during a road trip.
