How do you think the Dodge Challenger stacks up against other retro-style vehicles on or coming to the market?

Chris is totally right!!! Americans cars MUST be American,I'm not American and I can tell you that if you drive a mustang in europe heads would turn like mad. mercedes, bmw, volvo etc...are "prestige" cars only in USA!!! I have seen with my eyes these stupid californians drive their boring mercedes and bmw's thinking they are cool!!! they are INSANE!!! and what about the horrible ugliest cars of the world...the asian cars??? America highway are full of these ridicolous craps,SHAME ON YOU!

Your view that Vanishing Point was the main impetus for the new Challenger's production is a stretch. The original car was an icon before the movie was made, and many car nuts who have never seen the movie still love this car. It will sell like crazy because it actually has a personality which most modern vehicles entirely lack. Now they need to expand the colorchart and make it in Plum Crazy!

If I could spend the money and not feel guilty about it. This car would make the list. Stick shift would be way cool; however, this many horsey's with out the limited slip differential. No, No, No. If Dodge comes out with a V6 version and kept the aggressive good looks. Watch out Mustang.

When you figure out Global Warming is a total hoax, you will hopefully learn to appreciate this car for what it is AMERICAN Please move to Europe if you want to drive a slow little car. Please Please move

Dennis, Actually I think you have it backwards. Cars like these is what is keeping Detroit alive. When ever the big three try and copy the Euro or asian brands they fail at it miserably. (Name almost any of the many american clones of the Camry or Civic and it is out done by its foreign competition.) When they do something that is uniquely American, the product is a hit. (The Mustang, the Chrysler 300/Charger, the Jeep, almost the whole line of Cadillac. Now the Challenger, it is sold out.)

This car is another reason Detroit is on life support. I suppose the nastalgic aspect of owning wheels like these is compensation for other short comings.

Actually it is 3 colors for 2008, orange, silver and black. It is it's initial run. In 2009 there will be dark red, light(er) red, white, blue, silver, orange, charcoal, and black. 2009 will also include a manual with higher rear end gears.

I understand that Chrysler is only putting out one color: This burnt orange. What baby boomer who digs the old Challeger didnt see Vanishing Point. I was born in '59 and saw it four times ('71,'72,'74,'77). Why the hell not offer it in white? They deserve to go out of business!

to Jordan a boring clk55 more prestigious than a dodge challeger????????????? what have you smoke??? try to drive a mustang or a challenger here in europe and you will realize what prestige is!! drive a mercedes instead and you would be another taxi driver! you Americans are becoming totally insane these days

I'm Italian and having visiting America lately I have to say that you are full of ugly horrible asian cars . I have never seen in my life such bad tastes in cars...where are the wonderful big crazy REAL American cars gone??? I did like only the mustang and the ford thunderbird, the rest is crap(included Cadillacthat looks like an ugly volvo). I really hope Americans will wake up and realize that they used to build he most fascinating cars on earth, and the dodge challenger is a good example of what an America car should be!
