The delta is the heart of the California water system where the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers converge, and much of Southern California's water flows through it. The state's water may be in peril as drought looms and there is greater demand for water than ever before. The delta, while always important, has moved to the center of the debate, as lawyers, environmentalists, politicians and citizens ponder how to save the delta -- and still quench the great California thirst. |
