LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo.—There's a super-sized sale going on in Lee's Summit. The "Just Between Friends" sale is a consignment sale that offers good prices for children's items like clothes, toys and accessories.
Amber Post owns the Lee's Summit franchise that's now grown to 400 consigners and 24,000 square feet of everything you can imagine for cheap.
The best part for most mothers is the money they make from the closets they've cleaned out.
"They tag it at home, bring it here and drop it off," Post said. "We sell it for them and they make 65 to 70 percent of the selling price. So the average consignment check around here is about $400."
Sheri Songer says she's made good money at this sale before.
"There's money to be made at this sale," Songer said .
She's pulled in about a $1,000 the last few times she participated.
It's easy to see why thousands of other mothers consider this a can't-miss consignment sale. The sale continues on Sunday from noon until 7 p.m. at John Knox Village. It also runs Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
