It's a list of cars that makes any car enthusiast drool.
1924 Bentley, 1968 Mercedes, 1954 Jaguar, 1974 Porsche.
Don't let the vintage title fool you, they're just beginning a trip to the 49th state.
"You get to see so much. It opens up these sort of great spaces in the way you can travel from point to point," said Jonathan Auerbach, a driver from America.
The trip is the Trans-America Rally designed by professional drivers from Great Britain.
A one month journey from Newark, New Jersey to Anchorage, Alaska that's attracted 41 teams, mostly from Europe, in more than 50 cars.
On day three, they stopped by Virginia International Raceway in Halifax County.
"Just to have them here it a big thing. It's a one of thing. It may never happen again. You take your chance don't you? You've got to cash in on that," said raceway employee Charlie Exton.
If the word endurance had a mascot, it would be this 1924 Bentley; the oldest car in the competition estimated to be worth nearly four million dollars. It's driven by Sonja Schaefer and her sister, both from Denmark.
"Normally if it's a Bentley it's rotting. So I can't believe it keeps going, so we think it can handle it," said Schaefer.
They agree, it's not a challenge for weak engines or wallets. The nearly 9,000 mile trip costs more than $80,000.
The rally headed to Knoxville, Tennessee this morning. The drivers expect to be in Alaska a month from now.
