Is it art or is it porn?
For the first time in more than 15 years, the Grandin Theatre will show a movie rated NC-17.
A NC-17 movie is similiar to the old X rating.
NC-17 means no one under seventeen is admitted, not even with a parent.
The movie in question is called "Shame."
It's about a sex addict and it has plenty of sex scenes and nudity.
The Grandin hopes most people will see past that.
"It's a provocative film and not a pornographic film and I think the message would be is an art-house independent theater so it's part of our mission to bring these films that wouldn't otherwise be seen in the region here," said Executive Director Kathy Chittum.
Chittum says anyone who is buying a ticket to "Shame" will be carded at the box office.
The movie opens Friday.
Chittum believes the last NC-17 movie to play at the Grandin was "Showgirls." She says there have been several movies in the last few years that were unrated.
