Seniors at Liberty University are celebrating the end of their college years by partying with the man who runs their school.
Liberty's chancellor, Jerry Falwell Jr., welcomed more than 1,200 students to his Bedford County farm Saturday night. They enjoyed a huge picnic with a ferris wheel and inflatable rides.
Students also got to enjoy the outdoors with horseback riding and canoeing. Falwell and his wife have held this celebration for seniors every year since 2008.
"It's overwhelmingly cool," Senior Maame Danso says. "Most schools wouldn't do this and it's great to meet the chancellor in person."
Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr. adds, "It's just a way of sharing the farm with the students. It's fun for us to see them enjoy it and get out to enjoy the natural beauty of this area."
Students were even allowed to roam around the Falwell's private home.
Your Hometown News Leader was the only local TV station invited to attend Saturday's party.
