AMHERST COUNTY, Va.—Investigators are looking into what caused a plane to crash-land Saturday in Amherst County.
The pilot was not hurt.
He reported that he was en route from Charlotte to Pennsylvania when the engine sputtered and shut off. The pilot was unable to make it to Lynchburg Airport, so he put the plane down in a field.
The pilot, Jon Green of Zionsville, Indiana, refused medical treatment.
The plane was an ultra-light aircraft.
Virginia State Police are looking into what caused the engine to shut off.
