Most lanes of traffic in Virginia will re-open for holiday travel.

The Virginia Department of Transportation will lift lane closures from noon Monday (Christmas Eve) through noon Wednesday. Lane closures will also be lifted from noon Dec. 31 through noon Dec. 2 for the New Year’s holiday.

Here are some work zones in the WDBJ7 viewing area:

Amherst County
Route 29 over Buffalo River:
 During bridge replacement, all traffic will be routed to single lanes both directions in the southbound lanes. Speed limit 50 mph. 

Botetourt County
Interstate 81
: Exit 168 (Arcadia Road) bridge over I-81 closed for replacement; follow detours.

Roanoke County
Route 11/Route 460:
 Road widening west of Salem will reduce speed limit to 35 mph in most of work zone.

Rockbridge County
Interstate 81:
 Constructing northbound truck-climbing lane, mile marker 195.6 to 202.5.

Rockingham County
Route 609/Naked Creek Road
: Replacing bridge at intersection of Route 603/Fleeburg Road, Page County. Traffic shifted from existing Route 603 bridge to temporary bridge.

Wythe County
Interstate 77/Interstate 81 overlap
: High traffic volumes could slow or stop vehicles through this eight-mile stretch of interstate. Be alert to delays on northbound I-77 at I-81 merge.
