Cops were on the hunt Thursday for two men who brutally beat a 59-year-old as he was in the middle of moving out of his Bronx apartment.
According to authorities, Bimal Chanda succumbed to his injuries Wednesday, upgrading what started as a brutal assault to homicide.
Chanda was headed to his old apartment in the Fordham
section on Saturday afternoon when he was ambushed by the two suspects, police said. The victim was reportedly buying packing tape when he was attacked.
Police say Chanda was struck repeatedly in the head with a metal object. The suspects fled after taking an undisclosed amount of cash.
Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call police.
