BOHEMIA, N.Y. (WPIX)—Two teenagers are in police custody in connection with a plot to kill staff and students at Connetquot High School.
Suffolk County police obtained a cell phone and computer belonging to Dana Saltzman, 16, and determined she and Christopher Franko, 17, planned to execute the murders at the Bohemia High School in the near future.
Officials said data collected on Salzman's computer revealed numerous searches on websites that provided detailed information on explosives and bomb making devices. In addition, cell phone text message between the pair discussed plans to buy gun and kill people.
Franko is a former student at Connetquot High School and a graduate of BOCES, where he met Salzman.
The pair were charged with conspiracy in the 5th degree.
Salzman was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on May 1 where she was released on her own recognizance.
Franko was arraigned Friday at First District Court, in Central Islip, and will appear before a judge again on June 8.
