AIR 11 was over the scene after a Nassau County police officer who was pursuing a suspect, crashed his patrol car along the Southern State Parkway Monday.

MASSAPEQUA, N.Y. (PIX11)—
A Nassau county police officer is in critical condition following a pursuit that ended in a crash along the Southern State Parkway
, officials said.
According to authorities, the two-car crash happened near Exit 32, Route 110 at around 12:22 p.m. The injured officer, who wasn't immediately identified, was airlifted to Nassau University Medical Center
where he is listed in critical but stable condition.
AIR 11 was over the scene shortly after the crash. Footage captured the smashed patrol car stopped in the eastbound lanes with a missing door and shattered windows.
As a result of the crash, the parkway was closed to traffic at Exit 31 and traffic was being diverted to Route 110.
According to Newsday, the suspect who was being pursued remains "at-large." Police were still on the scene Monday afternoon investigating the crash.
