NEW YORK (PIX11)—Note to motorists in the city or planning to come into the city: leave the cars in the garage and use mass transit.
Streets will be closed -- on and off -- across the five boroughs Sunday for the ING New York City Marathon.
In Manhattan, the lower level of the Ed Koch/59th Street Bridge/Queensboro Bridge will close at 7 a.m. Then around 8:45 a.m., spots along First Avenue between East 77th Street and the Willis Avenue Bridge will also be closed.
Most of the roads will re-open within hours, once most of the runners have gone by; but, sections of Central Park East and the West Drivers will be closed all day.
