MILWAUKEE, WI—Harley-Davidson has ended their negotiations on a proposed bargaining agreement with the Wisconsin unions. The United Steelworkers Local 2-209, Milwaukee, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Lodge 78, Milwaukee, and USW Local 460, Tomahawk, have agreed to the ratification of a company proposal in order to keep jobs in Wisconsin.
Union Members are scheduled to vote on the agreement September 13th and if they are agreed on, the new labor contracts would take effect in April 2012. Harley-Davidson is not releasing any details on the proposed deal until after the unions have met with their members. The meetings are taking place on September 7th in Milwaukee and September 8th in Tomahawk.
