A 65-year-old moped driver was airlifted to the hospital in unknown condition after a crash involving two other vehicles in Goshen.
This happened in the 2900 block of Peddler's Village Road, near the entrance to Peddler’s Auction, just after noon. Police say a VW Beetle driven by 92-year-old Annetta Harrington of Goshen pulled out in front of the moped driver – Stephen Kucela of Goshen.
Kucela was unable to avoid hitting the rear left fender of the Beetle. He bounced off into oncoming traffic and was hit by an eastbound SUV driven by 44-year-old Jesus Nunez of Goshen.
Kucela was thrown from the moped and rolled along the center of the road, say police. He was airlifted to South Bend Memorial Hospital in unknown condition.
Harrington was uninjured. Nunez reported non-incapacitating pain and was taken to the hospital.Stay with us for updates.
