Friday was national puppy day and the day to celebrate the arguably most adorable mascot's birthday.
Butler Blue II celebrated his eighth birthday during a special party. Students, alumni and cupcakes filled Butler University’s student union as a part of the celebration.
While Blue did enjoy the spotlight, he didn't want any presents. Instead, guests brought donations to help Bulldogs to the Rescue.

"He gets all this love and attention but there are so many dogs out there that don't live this kind of life.
“Most dogs don't live this kind of life and so to use Blue's celebrity to give back to folks like Indiana Bulldog Rescue and the Humane Society of Indianapolis is the right thing to do," said Michael Kaltenmark, Blue’s handler
Now, Butler Blue II wasn't at the party but we’re pretty sure he too got a slice of birthday cake.
