Governor Mitch Daniels presented this year’s Mr. Math award to a Park Tudor student Tuesday. High school senior Jeffrey Shen was named Indiana Mr. Math for 2011.
Shen scored a perfect 800 on the math section of the SAT and a perfect score of 36 on the ACT.
Shen isn't just a student at Park Tudor, though. He is also taking math classes at IUPUI.
"A lot of math just comes really naturally to me. I suppose it's because I started on math when I was early, when I was young,” Shen said.
Shen's new title earns him a $2,000 academic scholarship from McGraw-Hill Education.
He said he plans to attend MIT and wants to become a professor.
