Barcroft’s mother said her daughter has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and abuses the drug to treat it, Adderall. She said Iseminger told Barcroft to seek help.
“Because he knew of her difficulties, he wanted to get help,” said Barcroft’s mother. “This made him her enemy.”
Other family members told Fox59 they thought Barcroft was dangerous, but her mother said she couldn’t imagine her daughter would take someone’s life.
Iseminger was with workers, getting ready for a day of restoration work at the cemetery next to the church.
One worker said Barcroft approached him, asking where Iseminger was. The witness said she went into his office and the sound of a gunshot could be heard.
According to court documents, police found Barcroft hiding in the bushes of a nearby home. Officers recovered a gun on her they said was the weapon used in the shooting.
A viewing will be held for Iseminger at 2 p.m. and his funeral will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Southport Presbyterian Church.
