Raising money for anything these days can be tough. But when there's a cause worth donating to, a benefit is a great way to make it a little easier. This week there are a few events that give you some bang for your generously-given bucks. The 4th Annual Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Fund Raising Concert at Captain's Cove this Saturday night (1 Bostwick Ave., Bridgeport, 203-335-1433, 9 p.m.) is in honor of Redding resident Robert Vitanza who lost his life to the rare disease in 2008. It'll feature the bands My Black Shirt, Bad Boy and Bobby Wheeler for a $10 cover. Visit cjdfoundation.org for more info. There's the Click it for Cassie Softball Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Norwalk's Calf Pasture Beach (48 Calf Pasture Beach Road, Norwalk. 203-854-7806, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.) to encourage seat belt use in memory of Cassie Geary, a local teen who lost her life in a car crash. Admission is free, and you can get more info at clickitforcassie.com. On Thursday, The Rose of Hope Luncheon will raise funds for the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center in Fairfield (Call 203-255-5300 for the location) and will feature music by cancer survivor P.J. Pacifico (pictured) and a keynote speech by actress Julie Bowen from the show "Modern Family."
