Joen Baez is one of the most quintesential figures from the '60s folk renaissance (she even dated Bob Dylan and helped introduce him to the world), yet she hasn't toured without a full band in decades. Until now. Tuesday night, Baez will perform at Stamford's Palace Theatre, accompanied only by multi-instrumentalist Dirk Powell, as part of a fall tour featuring songs spanning her 50-year career in the wake of a recent Public Television documentary about her, Joan Baez: How Sweet the Sound.
Joen Baez, Palace Theatre, 61 Atlantic St., Stamford. Tue., Nov. 15, 7:30 p.m. $38-$72. (203) 325-4466, scalive.org.Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
