Adrian Belew Power Trio w/ Stick Men at Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton

Prog rock is a guilty pleasure. But every so often you need to dust off those Gentle Giant LPs and wave your nerd flag high. Here's a good excuse: Adrian Belew and Tony Levin, who joined Robert Fripp's King Crimson 30 years ago for the Discipline album, are in Northampton Saturday night. First, Levin, Markus Rueter, and Pat Mastelotto (another current Crim) will play a set as Stick Men, followed by Belew's Power Trio (with Julie Slick and Tobias Ralph). Levin, Mastelotto and Belew will then do a trio set of Crimson tunes, followed by all six musicians doing some double trio stuff.

Adrian Belew Power Trio w/Stick Men, featuring Tony Levin and Pat Mastellotto, Oct. 1, 7 p.m., $30-$35, Iron Horse Music Hall, 20 Center Street, Northampton, (413) 586-8686, iheg.com.
