Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and punk legend Patti Smith indelibly changed popular music. This fall, the Wadsworth celebrates Smith's endeavors in another artistic realm — photography — with Patti Smith: Camera Solo, an exhibit featuring 70 or so black-and-white silver gelatin prints Smith shot with a vintage Polaroid. Smith will perform at the opening on Oct. 20 — poet Arthur Rimbaud's birthday — with her longtime co-conspirator Lenny Kaye on guitar and daughter Jesse Smith on piano. She'll also hang around on Friday to sign the exhibition's illustrated catalog.
