Mix satire and Christmas together and you've got The SantaLand Diaries by acclaimed humorist David Sedaris, now playing at TheaterWorks. Starring Jeff Kready (pictured), the story revolves around an unemployed writer in desperate need of money who takes the job as a Macy's elf in "Santa Land." Originally written as an essay, Sedaris' piece was later adapted by Joe Mantello into a one-act play, and has since become a Christmas staple in theater. Leave the young kids (under 14) home for this one.
