The day in which we celebrate our independence is upon us! Here is a smattering of fireworks celebrations, because nothing says independence like shooting a rocket of explody, colorful fire art into the sky.

Hamden: June 29, 7 p.m., Town Center Park, 2761 Dixwell Ave.

Lake Compounce: July 4, noon, 186 Enterprise Drive, Bristol.

Madison: July 4, 8:30 p.m., Madison Surf Club, 87 Surf Club Road.

Middlebury: July 4, 11 a.m., Quassy Amusement Park, 2132 Middlebury Road.

Middletown: July 3, 8:30 p.m., 245 deKoven Drive.

New Haven: July 4, 8 p.m., East Rock Park, Cold Spring & Orange sts.

New London: June 29, 8 p.m., Ocean Beach State Park, 98 Neptune Ave.
