How to get on TV

Staff Writer

If you want to see a taping of "Live! With Regis & Kelly" this week, sorry fans. Don't bother trying; the show is in reruns this week. But there are plenty of opportunities to be in the audience for other Manhattan shows:

The Jane Pauley Show: Wondering what Jane's been up to? This: A syndicated show that starts this month. Call 212-664-3056 for tickets; it tapes Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Show times are 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Late Night With Conan O'Brien: The best chance to get into a taping this week at Rockefeller Center is to call NBC for standby tickets (one per person.) The number is 212-664-3056.

Late Show With David Letterman: Dave's a tough ticket on the best of days, and probably particularly so this week, but nothing ventured ... Standby tickets are almost always available (which, as everyone will always tell you, doesn't necessarily guarantee admission). But CBS suggests calling 212-247-6497 at 11 a.m. of the day you wish to attend. (This line's open only for a short period of time, or until all the standby slots are filled.) The show tapes at Ed Sullivan Theater, at Broadway and 51st Street, and expect to show up at the studio by around 4 or 4:30 p.m. at the latest.

Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn (Comedy Central): A first-come, first-served show, so it's best to arrive no later than 5 p.m. (for a 6 p.m. taping) at the Sony Studios, 447 West 53rd Street between Ninth and 10th avenues. If you have more questions, here are the contacts: tickets@toughcrowdtv.com or call 212-560-COMEDY (2663).

The Graham Norton Effect (Comedy Central): Again, standby tickets are the only option at this late date, and for information on those, it's best to email (grahamnortonny@broadwayvideo.com).

The Daily Show With Jon Stewart: Another big draw, taping at 513 West 54th Street at 10th Avenue. (at 5:45 p.m.). Best to call 212-586-2477 to figure out ticket availability, if any, this week.

The View: There's a long wait for this show (taped at ABC Studios, 320 West 66th Street at West End Avenue) so maybe the easiest way to inquire about standbys is by going on-line (www.abc.com/theview). ABC says that there will definitely be "last-minute" tickets available, and that standbys will be given out each morning starting at 8:30 a.m. (for the 11 a.m. taping).

Total Request Live (MTV): A word to the wise -- call this number, 212-389-8549, before heading over to battle the Times Square crowds this week. And expect busy signals. (You can also email trlcasting@mtvstaff.com.)
