The last laugh

Cartoonists have derided “the Decider” all along. No surprise that his legacy’s in pieces in our pieces. So as Bush 43 wrapped up his head-spinning spin tour (what, no “Revision Accomplished” banner?) and headed for the exit, stage right, we rolled up our sleeves, then our pant legs and chucked our last metaphorical shoes. Steve Sack’s fiscal finale foretold history’s junk heap. Larry Wright nailed the prez in the line of the fired. And Tom Toles, speaking for cartoonists, critics and comedians everywhere, threw the children’s book at him, speaking volumes.
