To the editor: I imagine it goes something like this after a scandal. (“White House continues to struggle with domestic abuse vetting scandal,” Feb. 14)

President Trump brushes off an event as “fake news.” The scandal persists, and clear evidence is more than noise. Trump puts his finger in the air and determines it’s time to go with the tailwind and, in the most milquetoast way, condemns the event. The collective sound of relief emanates from the White House and, poof, no more scandal.

John Gotti was called the “Teflon Don.” How did the American people elect a Teflon Don as their president?

To the editor: In regard to spousal abuse, I was so happy to read that Trump is “totally opposed” to it. I just thought that maybe … oh, never mind.
